SERP is the acronym for Search Engine Results Page. And one of the key to money-tise online is to understand the importance of the search engine results page and its functions.
The search engine results page ranking can decrease or increase over time and depends on every search engine's tweaking and adjusting its algorithm during an update or re-positioning.

SERPs are what brings traffic to your site/blog thru search results of your optimized keywords and this traffic could convert into money, if your visitors find what they are looking for - - the right content, good information, quality products or services. This is important if you want to make money grows online. Site/blogs that have no traffic and not index by any search engines are difficult to moneytise. And again, you must optimized your keywords, the more optimized your keywords are, the more possibility to improve your page ranking.
Here's the list on how search engines display the listings on their Search Engine Results Page (SERP);
• Listings that have been indexed by the search engine’s crawlers.
• Listings that have been indexed into the search engine’s directory by a human moderator.
• Listings that are paid to be listed by the search engine.
Listings that have been indexed by the search engine’s crawlers - When you submitted your site on major search engine directories such as Google, Yahoo, MSN and other search engines. Submission on any search engine is the most effective way to be indexed and involved no money but it takes time and effort to built it.
Listings that have been indexed into the search engine’s directory by a human moderator - When you submitted your site/blog to the leading web directories. Leading web directories attract a large number of visitors daily and so you may get a good number of visitors from such directories and it also helps your site/blogs in building quality backlinks. ex: DMOZ, Yahoo Directory, Lii
Yahoo search is the best-known search engine that makes use of human moderators and editors when creating a SERP.
Listings that are paid to be listed by the search engine or pay to be listed in paid search engine. It is buying your way to be listed. You have to pay to advertise and be listed on SERPs for your particular keyword query, your products or services. The ad shows up at the top of a Google search or Yahoo search and mostly on the right-hand side of the results page(natural search). Those ads are called Sponsored ads and are paid positions, every time the visitors click the ad, then you have to pay - this is called PPC ad or Pay-Per-Click advertisement. This is fine if you have deep pockets and this is where Search engines generate their revenue. ex: Google AdWords, Yahoo Search Marketing
I'm planning to try all the listings above but so far, I've only tried the first and second and it seems effective. This blog had been indexed by Google on the first page with few of my keywords. I think big G like Blogger while Yahoo preferred WP and Multiply. You may ask why I come up this conclusion, because I have a personal blog on WordPress and had been indexed on first page, spot #1 by Yahoo search (though not for money-tise), while this blog is nowhere to be found.
And according to some pro-bloggers who had already made quick money online, that there's no short-cut to rank well in the Search engines results pages but by creating quality contents with optimized keyword/s on every page while slowly building quality backlinks to your blog/site. Then, that's the time that you're all set to money-tise online.
